Taking Steps in your Ethnic Identity Journey (Offered Twice)
We all come from different backgrounds, yet God made us all uniquely beautiful and in God's image. We want to empower you to incorporate restoration into all areas of life and our ethnic identity is a key component to that. Join us as we dive into the different stages of our ethnic identity journey and the steps we take to move from one to the next. This seminar will resonate with you no matter how far along you are on your journey of discovering the gifts and brokenness of your family and culture.
Paseo Universitario de Oracion – Campus Visit (Seminar Block 1 Only)
Ever wondered how to start something on your campus? Before we start something nuevo, we have to know what God is already doing so that we can join in where God is already going. For anyone wanting to learn how to listen to the voice of God and/or start a ministry on campus, this is a great starting point. In thisseminar, we will practice listening to God in order to learn what he/she is doing at Delta College. Please bring a warm coat and good shoes (we'll be outside most of the time) and your bibles.
Starting Something Nuevo (Offered Twice)
Do you have a vision to see Latin@ students to explore their identity in Christ on your campus? Our seminarwill give practical first steps on how to begin the groundwork for planting a Latin@ ministry on campus. We will incorporate a proactive guide on how to set goals when starting something new!
Following Jesus, con familia (Seminar Block 1 Only)
Come join fellow conference attendees who are making a serious commitment to follow Christ as Lord and Savior! We will discuss what sharing our faith commitment looks like with our families and friends and what you can expect on the journey.
Articulating God’s Story to your Gente (Seminar Block 2 Only)
Are you unsure how to talk about your faith to your friends? Have you had some issues relating the Gospel to your friends’ everyday life? Tired of being super awkward when it comes to sharing the Gospel? Join us as we talk about practical, everyday ways to share our faith and stories in non-awkward, non-intrusive ways!
Reading Scripture Through Latin@ Eyes (Offered Twice)
Our voice and lens of scripture is needed to speak prophetically to the Church. Our narrative as Latin@s in the US offers a slice of God’s Story and heart. But how often do we read scripture with that awareness and purpose? This seminar will help start flex the muscles of your Latin@ leadership in the Church and on your campus through the power of reading and interpreting scripture.
Agents of Reconciliation (Offered Twice)
Latin@s have a unique place to serve as agents of reconciliation and healing in US race relations. We must recognize how we are uniquely equipped for the task of helping to bring reconciliation. Come discover ways our Latinidad has gifted us to engage with other communities in pursuing racial reconciliation.
When Faith and Activism Intersect (Offered Twice)
A seminar on partnering, engaging, and being converted by the justice and activist community. This workshop is for you if you have a value for justice but don't know where to start. During our time together, we will address barriers, partnering with campus orgs, and how to decompartmentalize your faith when in these spaces.
